Sushi Date Night

Last night, I collected on a bet Shane had lost a couple weeks ago. We went out of Sushi at the place we went to on Valentines Day. It was delicious and we were looking forward to going back!

After a great run yesterday and running some errands (Gym Days are the Best Days) we got ready and headed out.

Waiting for Shane to be ready!
And we are ready!

We didn’t think that it would be too busy so I didn’t bother with a reservation….Mistake!

Apparently this place has caught on and we walked in the a long wait! We were initially told 35 minutes, which didn’t seam too bad. So we settled in for the wait!

50 minutes later….we were still waiting…….I was starting to become a bit delirious and irrational at this point from hunger…….

Finally we got a table, I am just happy the food stated coming very quickly!

Salmon and Snapper Sashimi
Salmon Sushi
And of course some delicious rolls

It was delicious and worth the week of workouts I will have to do to burn it all off!

Today is a rest day as I have worked out all week and I am so sore! But I will be making some homemade protein bars and power balls, and will post the recipes later!

I Love Sundays!

Gym days are the best days!

I worked until 11 pm last night so it was pretty much home and straight to bed!

We were up early to enjoy the morning with a coffee and a delicious breakfast to get us ready to hit the gym……

Greek Yogurt with strawberries, maca, bee pollen, chia, hemp and toasted coconut

Felt pretty energetic today so I was hoping for a strong run

Why is my head so big?

Hit the gym for a good run. I wasn’t feeling very creative today so I basically copied my run from Monday with a bit of moderation

WARNING: Do not try to dance to Jason Derulo’s “Trumpets” while running 8.0 MPH
  • 0-5 Min @ 6.0 MPH
  • 5-10 Min @ 6.5 MPH

  • 44-45 Min @ 8.5 MPH

The last 7 Minutes were faster then the last run as Shane’s ex wife just happened to hop on the treadmill next to mine looking all perfect and smelling like the perfume counter at The Bay

So clearly almost making myself thrown-up was the only option I had at this time……I know you understand.

After the gym we had our protein shakes in the car along with some walnuts as we weren’t going right home.

Almond milk and plant based protein…..not the tastiest but it does the trick
Walnuts and Coffee!

After running a few errands it was home to relax a bit.

I made some homemade Cashew Butter

Whirl up some raw Cashews
Add a bit of hot water slowly until desired texture
Store in the fridge.

I am not sure how long it is good for as it is long gone around here before it could ever go bad. I will be using some of it in a Cashew Butter Chicken dish sometime soon. I will post the recipe when I do!

Getting ready to go out for a Sushi Date! Been looking forward to it all week.

Have a great night

Interval Run and Big Brother!

So before I start here, just a side note…….When you are chatting with your Mother on the phone (Who just came back from Mexico yesterday) and she asks you if you’ve ever had Brazilian……clarify what she means before answering! How was I supposed to know she meant a Brazilian Steakhouse a la carte restaurant at their resort??

march 24

I really was hoping it would warm up enough to get outside for a run but no luck…..brrrr…… Screw that!

I powered up for my run with 1/2 a grapefruit that I sprinkled with stevia and cinnamon and then broiled in the oven…..tastes so much better this way then cold.

I also has some of the C4 pre workout. Just needed that extra kick today!

I also did a .5 Mile warm up and a .5 Mile cool down (This picture is just of the interval run). My goal is to get up to 6 Miles in under 50 Minutes. Almost there.

Yikes ……It is definitely a hair washing day!

I am so so excited…..Big Brother Canada 3 starts tonight!!!!!!!! I wish I had tried out like I wanted to! Every year I always say I am going to the casting but never do……ugh…

Shane and I are heading to my our friends place to watch.

And have some wine and naughty food of course!

milkWhy can’t wine have protein in it? sigh

Gonna have to run this night off!

My good friend Julie invited us (Shane and I) out for her partners Birthday at a local pub. Adult bevies, some munchies and lots of laughs!

I love it when the wine glasses are the size of my head!

Shane was definitely having a good night!

Shane and Pete the Birthday Boy!
Myself and Julie

I am so happy that they moved close to us! I am not from this area so it is great to have such good friends so close! Monday morning I will definitely be hitting the pavement to burn off that wine! I am hoping to get in a 15 km run if the weather cooperates!

Krazy Glue saves lives

Yesterday was a nice day off! After running on the hamster wheel treadmill for 4 miles, we headed to Costco. My blender decided to go kaput on me the other day and I can’t live without one. Of course I would LOVE to get a vitamix but I don’t really want to spend $500-$700 on a blender. I have a few friends who have the Ninja and say it works great. I looked all over trying to find the 1500 watt/2.5 horsepower one but apparently Canadian’s don’t need blenders that strong and the American web sites all refused to ship it to me!! rudeI ended up getting the blender / food processor. I took it home, washed it all up……..Excited to get it all put together and use it…..Then the damn thing cut me!! SOBAt least I know its sharp! After I cut myself it was bleeding like crazy…….so I did what any normal person would do…..After it FINALLY stopped bleeding, I krazy glued that sucker shut….Good idea!……Right????…..I work the next three days in a row….7-7.
