Yesterday (Sunday May 10) was the Sporting Life 10K
I know! It seams like we have been talking (shit) about this race forever!! I mentioned that my big mouth had gotten me into a bit of a situation with this run. I seam to have put myself out their with some pretty big projections about beating a couple of my co-workers that were running as well! It was all in good fun overall I didn’t really care where I finished as long as I wasn’t completely left behind!
Now that it is done I am pretty sure everyone else at work will be happy to not have to hear anymore about this run!
What day is it?
That means only 3 sleeps till the Sporting Life 10K run! There are 6 of us from work running so hopefully the weather doesn’t stays nice! Today is going to be 23C(73F) and tomorrow will be 29C(84F)!!!!!!!
I hope everyone had a great Easter. I worked all weekend and unfortunately I got Zero yummy Easter dinner……
But don’t worry, I did manage to make myself a indulgent Apple Martini after work to enjoy while I watched Big Brother…..
I am supposed to be starting 5 days off today but I picked up an Overtime shift tomorrow.
Going to get out there today and do a 10k run, even though its freezing…..AGAIN! See I have quite a few runs coming up and one of them in particular I must be ready for! The Sporting Life 10 K on May 10. About 6 people that I work closely with are also running it. I may or may not have opened my huge mouth and made not one but TWO bets that I will beat certain people…..Do you ever talk and even as you are saying the words you want to take them back? Yeah……well welcome to my life!! Talked wayyyy to much shit this weekend!
My motivation behind these
stupid friendly bets was that they will motivate me to get my butt out these and train! But they just got a bit out of control and the wagers got a little high!
So now that I can not get out of these bets I have no choice but to win. So I have about one month to get up to par!
Hopefully finally getting music put onto my Sony cordless MP3 player will help my runs. I have been using my phone for my music for a while since I broke my old MP3 player. And using the phone is just annoying. I am so sick of the cord and the arm band it is distracting. These new ones are light weight and fit great. Today will be my first run with them, even though I got them for my Birthday last August!
Today is meal prep day for the week, so you know like it or not I will be doing another post later today!
I am looking forward to some runs that are coming up.
April 26 I have The Brantford Classic -5k Run This is more of a Fun run!
May 3 Is the Goodlife Fitness 1/2 Marathon I am running this with my best friend Kelly. Looking forward to it since I haven’t done a 1/2 marathon race in a couple years!

May 10 Kelly, Myself and a few people from work will be doing the Sporting Life 10K Apparently this is known as Canada’s easiest and one of the fastest 10K’s anywhere! I better PR!
September 25-27 I have been chosen (I am so surprised I was picked) to participate in The National Peace Officer’s Memorial Run It is such an honor to participate in this run. I will be on a team of 24 peace Officers throughout the Province (Officers come from all over the country in teams of 24) It starts in Toronto and lasts for three days, ending up in Ottawa at Parliament Hill. I will be responsible to run 2 10km legs in less then one hour each of the three days. This run is primarily to honor and pay tribute to Officers who have fallen in the line of duty. I am really looking forward to this run. Hopefully I am in physically able to do this, I have never something like this before. I may try to sneak out of the hotel after the first day……..
Goodness knows I have tried to escape before the start of a run before!
