The results from yesterdays race were posted last night. According to the official stats I finished at 53:14 with a pace of 5:20 per km or 8:34 per mile. I finished 9 out of 28 in my age group and 58 out of 183 overall. Not many people ran the 10k compared to the 5k, which had 1500 runners.
We have our next 10k on May 10th. It is a easier course so I am hoping to hit 50-51 minutes……
So when I left you last I had spent a couple hours making and decorating cupcakes for a couple people at work. I even decided to make a couple dozen extra to bring in for the other staff in my area. Friday Morning I got up bright and early . I always make Shane’s smoothie in the morning so while I was doing that I
told him to politely asked him to put all the cupcakes in my car.
So he nicely got up and did just that. It seamed as though he was taking quite a long time to do this simple tasks and I was starting to get a bad feeling. And when I opened the front door to leave I saw Shane standing on the front porch looking like
Covered in icing……..What did you do!!!
Apparently there had been an accident! One dozen of the cupcakes had went from this……..
I wasn’t very happy at 530! Let’s just saw he’s lucky we were in the driveway and the neighbors could hear…..
My day did get better when I opened my email and found this!!!
Yep that’s right! Guess who was picked from the draw for the Toronto Nike Woman’s 15 K on Toronto Island, June 14!
Wonder what will be in the swag bag!?
I’m more excited then Jesse Spano on pills!
Well this girl is working all weekend. Have a great holiday! I’ll be dreaming of someplace warm!
I am just starting a long week at work (60 hour work week)
Last night I sent in my regristration for the Nike Woman’s 15 k in Toronto on June 14.
The registration closed last night and apparently I will receive an email letting me know if I have been chosen or not. I am really hoping to get to run this race!
In other exciting news………
I did a lot of meal prep for the week. It’s almost starting to feel like spring and I’m craving lighter food. I made a delicious Quinoa Bowl. I eat this cold but you could warm it up if you wanted to
- 4 cups cooked Quinoa
- 1/2 cup diced sun dried tomatoes
- 1 cup diced roasted red peppers
- Fresh cilantro
- 1/2 crumbled goad cheese
Mix all ingredients together and add some fresh cracked black pepper and balsamic vinegar to taste
Delicious and filling. This will be my running fuel this week !
Just hoping this week goes smoothly!
I am looking forward to some runs that are coming up.
April 26 I have The Brantford Classic -5k Run This is more of a Fun run!
May 3 Is the Goodlife Fitness 1/2 Marathon I am running this with my best friend Kelly. Looking forward to it since I haven’t done a 1/2 marathon race in a couple years!
This is the face I make before every race……It helps, I swear
May 10 Kelly, Myself and a few people from work will be doing the Sporting Life 10K Apparently this is known as Canada’s easiest and one of the fastest 10K’s anywhere! I better PR!
September 25-27 I have been chosen (I am so surprised I was picked) to participate in The National Peace Officer’s Memorial Run It is such an honor to participate in this run. I will be on a team of 24 peace Officers throughout the Province (Officers come from all over the country in teams of 24) It starts in Toronto and lasts for three days, ending up in Ottawa at Parliament Hill. I will be responsible to run 2 10km legs in less then one hour each of the three days. This run is primarily to honor and pay tribute to Officers who have fallen in the line of duty. I am really looking forward to this run. Hopefully I am in physically able to do this, I have never something like this before. I may try to sneak out of the hotel after the first day……..
Goodness knows I have tried to escape before the start of a run before!
Hoping to fit a few more runs in throughout the summer months!
